What is the "Fair-Use" policy and how can I learn more about it?

Answer

"Fair Use" is a democratic principle that is a based on the idea that authors should be allowed to cite  specific portions of copyrighted materials for the purposes of editorial commentary and criticism.

The Stanford University Copyright & Fair Use Center is an excellent resource for authors on copyright and publishing law, where you can learn more about Fair Use and it's importance in public life.
