How does Schiel & Denver calculate my royalty payments?

Answer

Schiel & Denver Book Publishers receive all booksales information from independent sales reporting organization, Nielsen Bookscan. The company also receive sales reports from our distributors like Ingram Book Group. This information is relayed by automated feed to your author account and updated monthly.

  • Schiel & Denver calculate royalty payments, based on the net sum we receive from sales of your book, which is represented by the retail price less discounts given to agents, wholesalers or booksellers (as appropriate) in order to secure book sales to the final customers.
  • We therefore give all our authors a fair 50% royalty share of the final amounts we receive, on the list price of each book, after necessary print costs, distribution and bookseller discounts to make the work available through our worldwide distribution channels.
  • The 50% royalty applies to all formats - softcover, hardcover and electronic book (eBook) versions.

With the remaining percentage, Schiel & Denver takes care of all book shipping fees, packaging and taxes, completely removing the hassle from the process. We offer some of the highest royalty rates available today among book publishing services and self publishing companies. After all it's your work, so you should be the one to profit from it's sale.
