At S&D, we believe that book pricing is too complex and important to simply dictate list prices to authors using a standardized table. The Set My Own Price (SMOP) service is available for authors who wish to take complete control of their retail pricing, and consequently, their royalty revenue. You can set the price of your book in U.S. Dollars, Canadian Dollars and GBP Sterling. Once you have purchased this service, it's easy to change the price of your book. All you need to do is contact  your desk editor.

The SMOP service allows for unlimited price changes by the author, during the lifetime of their book's publication. Therefore, if you decide (for economic or personal reasons) that a change in the retail or list price of your book is required, you have the devolved power to make and implement this decision at no extra charge.

With the SMOP service, you can modify the price of your book in each distribution territory it is sold, at exactly the same time. It is perfectly feasible to change the US price up, and the Canadian price down, at simultaneous or different periods - and Schiel & Denver will handle all related paperwork and tax issues on your behalf.

Schiel & Denver removes the hassle, and gives authors more choice and control over the book publishing process.

Any changes to price after your book is published will be reflected immediately in the S&D official bookstore, but note that it can take anywhere from 6-12 weeks for bookstores like Amazon and Barnes & Noble to reflect the changes in their retail catalogs.
